How to Make Beeswax Lip Balm

Sugar Syrup
Spring Feeding (Ratio 1:1)
5 lbs. sugar + 5 pints water

Fall Feeding (Ratio 2:1)
10 lbs. sugar + 5 pints water

To make sugar syrup, bring water to a boil, remove from heat and
add sugar, stirring until completely dissolved.  Let cool to room
temperature, then use in feeder of your choice.
Leftover sugar syrup may be stored in the refrigerator.

Fondant Recipe
Provided by Mike Burtt

Start with a 2 lb. bag of powdered sugar and some sugar syrup (2:1 ratio).
Put powdered sugar in a large bowl and slowly add sugar syrup until
the mixture thickens up and is the consistancy of bread dough.
Then roll out between two layers of PARCHMENT PAPER
(NOT WAX PAPER)
to about 1/4 inch thickness.
Then store in freezer until needed.  When you need to
use, take out of freezer and let it get to room temperature
before feeding to your bees.  To feed, just place on top of
inner cover or directly on top of frames.
